Meet Kenya Taylor
Author, advocate, and founder of The Gold Over Armor Project — creating spaces where vulnerability becomes strength.
My Story
"I'm a woman who's watched brilliant men carry so much and hide the cost. I wrote this book because loving someone means wanting them to have the right tools — and because rest, vulnerability, and help are acts of resistance and preservation."
I show up as someone who's practical, honest, and tired of pity without action. As a woman and mother, I recognized the critical need for an intentional conversation—one that grants men the explicit permission to be soft, tired, and in need of support.
My approach is rooted in unwavering love and accountability, blending personal narrative with therapeutic concepts to create accessible pathways to healing. I believe that the conversations we avoid are often the ones that can save us.
The Gold Over Armor Project
Our Mission
Creating resources and community spaces where vulnerability is not a weakness, but the clearest path to strength.
Our Belief
The true measure of a man's power is not the weight of the armor he wears, but the lightness of the life he chooses to live.
Why This Work Matters
For too long, we've asked men to be strong without teaching them how to be whole. We've celebrated their ability to endure without honoring their need to heal. This work is about changing that narrative — not by making men weak, but by making them free.
Mental health isn't just a personal issue; it's a community issue. When we create spaces for honest conversation about depression, anxiety, and trauma, we don't just help individuals heal. We strengthen families, relationships, and entire communities.
My Approach
Practical
Real tools for real situations, not abstract theories
Honest
Conversations that acknowledge pain without minimizing hope
Accountable
Love that challenges and supports growth
